My New Spa Shows a HTR DRY or Other Hot Side Error?Updated 5 hours ago
A HTR DRY message means the heater is not detecting enough water flow. Air can become trapped in the pump plumbing when a new spa is first filled. Bleeding the air from the pump can restore circulation.
Video guide: New Unit, HTR DRY Error
Before you begin: Make sure the spa is filled to the proper level. You will need a towel to catch water.
Step 1: Turn off power
Switch off the spa at its circuit breaker before opening the equipment area.
Step 2: Locate the pump union
Open the equipment access panel and locate the large black threaded union on the pump. Loosen the union slightly. Do not remove the union screws or take the union apart.
Step 3: Release trapped air
Allow the air to escape. You may hear a hiss. When the hissing stops and water begins to come out steadily, tighten the union again by hand.
Step 4: Restore power and check circulation
Close the access panel and turn the breaker back on. Confirm that water is moving through the system and that the HTR DRY message has cleared.
Important: Do not loosen plumbing connections while the spa is powered. If the error returns, the pump does not circulate, or the union continues to leak, turn the breaker off and contact Aquavoss Support.
